"I came to learn techniques for better writing and hopefully to find people I could be comfortable with.  I found both."

~ Robert

The Writers' Forum

The Writers’ Forum joins writers and writing enthusiasts for a sharing of original works followed by a compassionate exchange of balanced comments to encourage community and continued creative expression.

Celebrating the art of writing, all participants--including those who share their thoughts--are winners.  This program is non-competitve.

For the sponsoring organization, this program raises awareness, builds audience/customer base, and grows community.  Presented free to the public, this program can augment a celebration, enhance curriculum, or bring awareness to a fundraising campaign.

Neither a class nor a workshop, Forum writers share their original writings of up to 500 words or five minutes of reading time. Creative writing genres are encouraged (fiction or non-fiction; memoir, short story, novel, poetry, screenplay, etc.).  Excerpts of longer pieces can include a plot synopsis as part of the reading time.

Readings are followed by brief, facilitated discussions where audience members offer balanced feedback of what is liked, along with ideas for expansion and improvement.  This respectful, compassionate communication strengthens positive creative consciousness, benefiting writers and reviewers alike.

The Forum includes writers at any experience level and writing enthusiasts. No advance registration; authors who choose to read sign-up at the event, first come, first served.
